Cricket in Bexhill has been played for over 100 years and Bexhill Cricket Club was formed following an amalgamation of the early year clubs in the town.

On Saturday the club fields five Saturday sides which is more than any other local club. Our adult teams play in the Sussex and the East Sussex Leagues respectively with both the 1st & 2nd XI’s being in the top tier of their divisions. All 1st & 2nd XI matches are played at the club’s home ground known as the Polegrove which to coin a phrase is simply a stones throw from the beach.

We have a well established and successful junior section with league teams ranging from Under 10 through to Under 16’s. Children of all ages and abilities are welcome to come and play. Those who are still at softball stage practice on Sunday mornings from 10.00am at the Polegrove under the guidance of our ECB accredited and CRB checked coaching staff whilst those playing hard ball cricket practice during the week. For adult cricket, club night is a Tuesday night which sees all team practice at this time while selection is done for the weekend matches and players notified.

Whilst cricket is the main part of what we do, Bexhill is well known for being an incredibly hospitable place and we pride ourselves on the social aspect of our club. Players, officials, members and guests are made to feel welcome and we run a good number of social functions through the course of the year ranging from quiz nights to charity walks. Our fully modern and licensed bar makes our Pavilion an attractive place to watch cricket and our facilities themselves are currently being updated throughout to make Bexhill an appealing option for cricketers, spectators, members and the public.
